Effective immediately, a total Fire Burn Ban will be in effective for the Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton.

After reviewing current conditions and forecasts, the Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton will follow suit with both the Province and our surrounding municipalities and put a total fire burn ban in place for the Municipality effective immediately.

All active burn permits are immediately suspended until further notice. All permit holders will be contacted.

The fire ban includes campfires, burning barrels, sky lanterns and fireworks.

Motorized backcountry travel, including ATV's and other off-road vehicles are not permitted on any trails, in grassy fields or wooded areas due to the sparks that could easily ignite a fire.

This Fire Ban is due to the presence of dangerous combinations of temperature, wind, relative humidity, fuel or drought conditions which can contribute to new fires or the rapid spread of existing fires.
